Giuseppe Solenghi

Artist: Giuseppe Solenghi (1879-1944)

Giuseppe Solenghi, born in Milan in 1879, studied from 1892 to 1895 at the Brera Academy in Milan, following courses in painting under the direction of Cesare Tallone, those in sculpture and engraving under the direction of Ernesto Bazzaro, and finally those of perspective under the direction of Giuseppe Mentessi. Between 1895 and 1900 he devoted himself to the reproduction of illuminated manuscripts. After the First World War he began to exhibit his landscapes in group exhibitions, especially the urban views of old Milan, dedicating himself to representing the humid panoramas of the Milan canals but also those of the Venetian lagoons. After his death, he was buried in the Monumental Cemetery of Milan.
