Description
A pair of Louis XVI 18th Century French candlesticks with three arms, burnished and mercury glided bronze, chiseled and polished on the protruding parts creating light points and emphasising the plasticity of the sculptural elements. Black and white marble cylindrical base standing on round feet with two puttos holding a basket with leaves. The sophisticated elegance resulting from fusion, chisel and gilding distinguished this pair of candlesticks from later production (late 19th Century), which, though similar in shape, will not reproduce these executive details.
