Poco dopo il suo rientro in Italia dall'Argentina, l'ingegner John Geloso, nato da genitori Italiani, fondò a Milano nel 1931, la GELOSO S.a. iniziando la produzione di radioricevitori e componenti. Progressivamente la produzione si estese dalla presa microfonica ai condensatori elettrolitici, dall'impedenza agli interruttori, dai trasformatori alla manopola, dal radioricevitore alla resistenza. La creazione di brevetti, permise l'estensione della produzione ad applicazioni marittime e nel 1938 anche militari (ricetrasmettitore nella gamma 50-58 Mhz). I prodotti Geloso erano presenti tra gli hobbysti, nelle abitazioni, tra i radioamatori, tra gli impianti di amplificazione (stazioni ferroviarie, aereoporti, chiese, navi, manifestazioni religiose e sportive), per decenni questi prodotti sono stati sinonimo di facile reperibilità, semplicità d'installazione e di uso, anche grazie alla pubblicazione trimestrale del "BOLLETTINO TECNICO GELOSO" con trattazione dei problemi tecnici, consigli per ottimizzare i risultati, sulla manutenzione, sul montaggio, taratura ed istruzioni per la realizzazione di antenne, casse acustiche ed altro. La GELOSO S.p.A. divenuta un complesso industriale con 8 stabilimenti, nel 1968 perde il suo fondatore. Gli stabilimenti proseguiranno la produzione fino al 1972. Il marchio GELOSO, acquistato da un'altra industria, comparirà per alcuni anni su una gamma limitata di prodotti, poi scomparirà.

It is one of the most precious and sought-after woods in cabinet making. It was discovered in Central America around 1600 and began to be imported to England in the 1700s. Much appreciated for its hardness and indestructibility, it became widespread following the blocking of walnut exports from France in 1720 and the consequent elimination of English import duties on mahogany from the colonies in America and India. The most valuable version comes from Cuba, but it became very expensive. At the end of the 18th century it began to be used also in France in Louis XVI, Directory and Empire furniture, its diffusion declined starting from when Napoleon, in 1810, forbade its import. It was generally used in the manufacture of elegant furniture, due to its characteristics and beautiful grain.
