Description

A pair of silver-plated bronze candlesticks, finely chiseled. The pair of candlesticks have a Late Baroque base with three feet shaped like shells and coats of arms with the engraved initials CM. A pair of compositions on the bases: on the first one, a female figure holding a cornucopia and a cherub laying his foot on a green lizard. On the other one, a female figure with a nymph and a dolphin holding a cornucopia. Each candlesticks have five arms shaped like spikes and lake canes. Manufactured in Italy, last quarter of the 19th century.

The figures engraved on the escutcheons CM should correspond to the initials of Carlo Mangiarotti, grandfather of the famous Edoardo Mangiarotti, Italian fencer of international fame, which he held in the hall of the palace of Milan, where he released the many interviews.
