Aldo Cibic (Schio, 1955) is an Italian designer. he started working and training as a young man under the guidance of Ettore Sottsass, in his Milanese studio with which he joined in 1980. At the same time he founded, again with Sottsass, the Memphis collective that decisively changed the world design landscape. The eighties were for Aldo Cibic the period of training and maximum experimentation in design and architecture that led him to stylistic maturity. At the end of that decade, Aldo Cibic formalized his detachment from the Sottsassian school to open his own studio, which is still active today in the fields of architecture, interior and design projects in Italy and abroad. He continues a theoretical research work on alternative design methods in the field of design and architecture, and is engaged in the academic field, with the Domus Academy, the Politecnico di Milano, the IUAV University of Venice and the Tongji University of Shanghai, at which he is Honorary Professor.Production: Autoproduzione
