Description : Madonna con Bambino

Oil on canvas. Mary and the Child are depicted in a lively and playful position. Baby Jesus is playing with a pendant holding the mother's arm who is relaxed and looking after her child with a sweet and funny smile. Behind them to the left there is an impressive fluted column. The painting contains references to the painting technique of the 16th century, typical of Region Emilia Romagna. The characters are depicted with grace and lightness. Their position is not static, but dynamic. Lights and colors in opposition to the shapes, develop new effects of chiaroscuro creating the illusion of plasticity. A small stained wooden frame was added to the original canvas which shows some signs of restoration. Guilloche frame of the early 20th century.
