A pair of wooden sculptures, cherry wood with travertine base. With the shape of towel holder mannequins (height adjustable towel holder rod), they are differentiated in the two male and female versions. The male mannequin, slightly smaller, is signed and dated on the back. Mario Dal Fabbro was a well-known sculptor and furniture designer. Grown up in a family of furniture artisans from the area of Treviso, he graduated in Art and Design at the Institute for Decorative and Industrial Arts and at the Royal Magisterium of Art in Venice, but having maintained an active role in the furniture sector of his family, as a designer, craftsman and administrator, he was able to master the design and construction not only of all types of furniture, but also of everyday life tools to which he knew how to confer an artistic beauty, thus gaining success in the design sector. He then began to research all types of modern materials and technologies, doing everything from children's furniture to automatic wooden mechanisms. He wrote about all his discoveries, establishing himself as a design writer. After the war he went to the United States where he had great success both as a writer and as a designer, becoming responsible for several projects of seats for concert halls, theaters and courtrooms. From 1968 Dal Fabbro returned to devote himself full time to his original passion, sculpture, applying his extraordinary manual skills, technical expertise and deep knowledge of wood to the creation of fluid and dynamic forms. To this last period belong the two proposed works, elegant, slender, harmonious in form, differentiated in the male and female versions by the pectoral structure.
