Oil painting on canvas. St. Peter Martyr or Saint Peter of Verona joined the Order of the Friars Preachers (Dominicans). He was killed by some assassins in the forest of Seveso while he was walking from Como to Milan, cities where he served as Inquisitor. He is traditionally depicted - as in this painting - with the Dominican habit, a book in one hand and the palm of martyrdom in the other and an axe stabbed in his head. Two Angels are crowning him Martyr. The painting is presented in frame of the 18th century.
