Description : Il ritrovamento di Mosè
Oil painting on canvas. Giovanni Battista Crosato was originally from Venice but he worked a lot for the Savoy Court in Turin (his frescoes are in the Stupinigi villa, Villa della Regina and some of them in the Royal Palace too). He favored biblical and mythological scenes which he used to depict with a strong rococo component in the sparkling brush stroke and the quick spots manufacture. The painting proposes a subject that Crosato examined many times. Already restored and relined, the painting is presented in revival frame. 18th century.
