Description : Ritratto di fanciulla con corvo
Oil painting on canvas recalling the genre painting of Giuseppe Maria Crespi from Bologna (17th-18th century), an ironic artist who loved to depict genre scenes and especially young women from the waist up dealing with cats, little mice or doves, with different meanings. The young woman depicted is holding a black crow with a hand and is showing the animal a worm with the other hand, provocatively. The crow is staring at the worm: it represents a dinner of temptation and seduction! The painting is presented in beautiful revival gilded frame. 20th century.
