Description : Veduta fluviale con boscaiolo
Oil painting on canvas. Signature and date in the lower left corner. The English painter George Clarkson Stanfied - specialized in landscapes and marine landscape like his father - stood up for the topographical glimpses of many places of Europe he visited: Italian lakes, Switzerland, the Mosella valley and the Rhine valley. This landscape is a glimpse of a wide Nordic river band where a lumberjack is putting the cut and bound trunks into the water to transport them to the valley. The painting has some small color losses and a small hole in the lower left corner. Presented in coeval frame. 1869.
