Oil painting on canvas. The mythological scene depicts the god mask maker Vulcan. He is depicted surrounded by cherubs - the messengers of Venus (his wife) while he is about to forge the weapons for Aeneas upon the goddess' request. She seduced and convinced him to take on that task. In coeval frame. 18th century.
