Description:
The work, in four volumes, is organised as follows: the first volume contains the facsimile reproduction of the original work of Horne (George Bell & Sons, London 1908), the printed 240 copies, of which only 225 for sale, with 42 tables in b/w and the original English text. The second volume contains the Italian translation of the first, curated by Caterina Caneva and Serena Gavioli, with addenda and index by Caterina Caneva, and Giovanna Giusti, with the same boards. The third volume contains a third Appendix, unpublished: this is a rough draft for the catalogue of the works of the Artist and his school, that the Author himself announced in 1908, but could not because of his death to bring to an end. The volume contains 27 plates, b/n, and the fourth book is the Italian edition, edited and translated by Caterina Caneva. It was intended by the film to be a sequel of his volume on Botticelli (1908), but he could not complete it due to his death. It is a catalogue of the works of Botticelli and his school, with 27 b&w plates. The fourth volume is its English translation, edited by Caterina Caneva.
