Oil painting on canvas signed in the lower right corner. Felice Giordano was born in Naples where he studied with Antonino Leto - the one who made him fall in love with Capri island. The artist spent his life there and used to paint landscapes - especially the Capri landscapes but also places where he traveled like Venice or Paris. He painted also still life with fishes and glimpses of Naples. The painting has signs of repaired tears. It requires cleaning. Presented in coeval frame. 20th century.

Artist: Felice Giordano (1880-1964)

Born in Naples in 1880, Giordano Felice studied at the Institute of Fine Arts in the Neapolitan city, but his true teacher was Antonino Leto, from whom he inherited his love for the island of Capri, where he lived all his life. Leto's influence was initially clearly visible in his works, but over time the Jordan managed to acquire its own dimension. A valid landscape painter, the island of Caprese remains his main source of inspiration, but marine still lifes of fish, mussels and octopuses are also frequent in his production, as well as urban landscapes that portray the heart of Naples. Moreover, he traveled a lot, and also made glimpses of other cities, especially Venice.
