Oil painting on canvas signed in the lower left corner. Further signature, title and date on the back of the structure. Gino Moro was born in Milan where he studied at the Brera Academy. He exhibited his paintings in different galleries and became famous throughout Italy and won official awards. Since the beginning of his activity he chose to depict landscapes, still life paintings and nudes. In the 60s-70s he painted mostly non figurative paintings with a series of landscapes and glimpses depicting Lombardy and the Po Valley. This painting belongs to this last production and depicts the dam at Mignano in the hills near Piacenza. The dam holds back the river Arda creating the Mignano lake, a water reserve for the villages in the Po Valley. In frame. 1968.
