Occupying a space between the documentary and the make-believe, Dan Holdsworth's photographs transform Icelandic glaciers into a strange and futuristic landscape. In Blackout the landscape is present only as a brooding, eerie image of itself: the blue of the sky has become the deep black of space, while the earth appears in pale negative. This lunarlike terrain humbles the viewer before a foreign, awe-inspiring nature and repositions the notion of the romantic sublime.

Il PAC Padiglione d'Arte Contemporanea di Milano ospita dal 19 marzo al 9 giugno 2013 "Actuality", la prima grande retrospettiva italiana del fotografo canadese Jeff Wall (Vancouver 1946), curata da Francesco Bonami e prodotta da Comune di Milano - Cultura Moda Design e CIVITA. Le 42 opere in mostra, alcune presentate per la prima volta in Italia, tracciano il percorso creativo di uno fra gli artisti contemporanei più innovativi degli ultimi trenta anni, presente a Documenta Kassel e alla Biennale di Venezia e protagonista di mostre personali nei principali musei del mondo, come il MoMA di New York (2007), il Deutsche Guggenheim di Berlino (2007) il San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (2008) e la Tate Modern di Londra (2005).
