Description : La pesca miracolosa

Grass juice, with thread inserts and embroidered stitching which simulate shading. The scene is taken from the Gospel episode of the Miraculous Draught of Fish. It is a copy of the homonymous masterpiece made by Raffaello commissioned by Pope Leone X in 1515. He had made the cartoons for the tapestries of the Cappella Sistina dedicated to the Acts of the Apostols; seven of these ten cartoons are conserved in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. It requires cleaning and restoration.
