Description

Chiselled gilded bronze clock. On the base there are decorations with plants motifs and leaves-like spirals; on the central reserve there are piercedbronze applications of branches, leaves and a basket of fruit. On the sides there are all-round sculptures: a young woman reading a book on which is instilled "Art of dessein", art of drawing. The base holds a big porcelain with bronze decorations; on the top there are zoomorphic heads and garlands of flowers. Hours are showed with Roman numbers while minutes are showed with Arabic numbers, the hands are made with gilded metal finely pierced. The mechanism is signed: S.Marti Etc. Medaill de bronze-Popon à Paris.
