Oil on canvas. Signed in the lower left corner "G. Barberis". Grand view of the famous hermitage perched in the eastern shore of Lago Maggiore. It was founded in the 14th Century and has hosted a number of religious order since then. The existence of Giuseppe Barberis (1840-1917) is noted. He was a xylographer, author of numerous views of Italy, including abbeys, churches and monasteries. The artwork is presented in a coeval frame.
