Description
Mixed technique and collage on paper. In the work you can see a large block of stone, placed on a pier, on which lie heavily bodies, of which you only see the legs; above it flies a big bird: a sacrificial altar, of a legendary or mythological? Ugo Carà, born in the province of Trieste, has had a career long 70 years, having begun to expose, still a university student, at the XVI Biennial of Art in Venice in 1928 as one of the most promising young players. His creative activity has ranged over the whole field: he created jewels, medals and commemorative plaques, and in the early years has boasted a remarkable pictorial production, even if his true greatness is tied to the sculpture, in particular the large production of bronze. If the painting was a parenthesis almost exclusively for young people, the passion for sculpture has accompanied him for his whole life, during which he used a variety of materials: marble, stone, wood, wax, plaster, bronze. The work is in the frame.
