The labels show the data of the work. Cesare Monti was born in Brescia in 1891. He studied painting with Edoardo Togni and Gaetano Previati, and came near to the divisionist technique. In 1911 he moved to Milan and began in italy in the vibrant artistic environment. His pictorial evolution continued up to the end, passing on from the initial pointillism to a more free painting done without drawing on the strength of the impression, to come to face bravely and wisely with the new tendencies, in a sort of figurative/informal. The work is presented in a contemporary frame.
