Almost contemporary copy of the well-known painting by Giovanni Sottocornola, which presented at the Permanente in 1914, obtained the Cassani Prize. The work portrays Maria, the painter's daughter, intent on sewing. In the years following 1898, the Milanese painter in fact devoted himself to intimate portraits and genre scenes, mainly of female and childhood subjects, inspired by family affections and his own domestic environment, frequently reproducing his wife and daughters. Fresco. Trained in Milan, coming from the province of Varese, Pietro Cortellezzi established himself as a frescante in churches especially in Lombardy and Veneto. In particular, in Milan one of his frescoes of the Four Seasons can be found in the hall of honor of Palazzo Marino, created for the restoration of the damage caused by the bombings of 1943; another cycle in the church of Saints Gervasio and Protaso. The acronym R.T.Y.C. defines its affiliation with the Royal Thames Yacht Club, the oldest sailing club of Great Britain, founded in 1775, although it took the current name only in 1830, and whose "commodore", the president of the club, is traditionally a member of the Royal Family. Luca Papaluca excelled for his portraits (especially gouache) of important yachts, steamships navigating, often located in the Gulf of Naples, where he lived and worked, with the Vesuvius in the background.
