Acquarello su carta applicata a tavola. Firmato in basso a sinistra. Al retro presente etichetta cartacea con i dati dell'artista e il titolo. Presenti inoltre etichette di partecipazione ad asta Sotheby' Chester del 1990. Molto poco si sa dell'artista inglese Kate Macaulay, se non che fu attiva nella seconda metà del XIX secolo, dal 1872 al 1896, e si dedicò prevalentemente alla pittura ad acquarello, con soggetto privilegiato le marine e gli scorci costieri con barche. L'opera è presentata in cornice dorata coeva, con piccole mancanze.
