Retouched and hand painted etching. Signed with pencil bottom right. Louis Icart, born in Toulouse in 1888, moved to Paris in 1907, where he devoted himself to painting, to graphic illustrations, quickly becoming one of the main exponents of Art Déco, reaching fame both in Europe and in the United States in the 1920s and 1930s. It is peculiar, in his production, the representation of sensual and provocative female figures, often clearly erotic, but always in a very ironic and humorous. Horses, dogs and cats often appear as co-protagonists of the scene. In this etching, dated 1936, all of these elements of his can be recognized: the femme fatale, inside a club, sitting in a sensual way on the tall bar stool, accompanied by... two nice dogs, one which is even drinking with a straw!
