Mixed media on faesite. Signed and dated on the back. In the work, the face in the helmet of an astronaut's suit stands out in the bottom right-hand corner: the year in which it was made refers to the first landing on the moon, and the work is therefore intended as a tribute to this unique event in history. The pictorial research of Nevio Bedeschi Bedeschi, originally from Faenza, often mixed elements of reality with an abstract expressionism, but right from the start he opened up to those reflections on social issues that were to characterise his most significant activity over time. In the second half of the 1960s, his research was defined: between memory and chronicle, the human figure or passages of nature come into conflict with geometric shapes that symbolise alienation, solitude and isolation. As well as being a painter, Bedeschi was also a graphic designer: he produced limited edition works and illustrated books of stories, fairy tales and poems for a number of publishing series. The work is presented in a frame.
