Oil on paper. Signed lower right. On the back the title, the date and the dedication "to his friend Valsecchi, typographer artist". Giulio Cisari was a painter, engraver and illustrator. Born in Como, he graduated from the Brera Academy, where he was also a teacher for many years. Attracted by color, he first approached landscape painting, to then devote himself to black and white. Under the guidance of A. De Carolis, he perfected himself in all reproduction techniques, from lithography to copper engraving, finding his preferred means of expression in woodcut. The work proposed here is his early production, by the twenty-year-old artist, who already knows how to express his taste for color well. It is presented in a contemporary frame.
