Oil on canvas. English school. At the foot of high snow-capped peaks, a river flows in a valley; along the path that runs alongside it, there is a refreshment point with some figures among which we recognize two soldiers, a woman with a child and a man sitting to quench his thirst. On the back of the canvas an old label attributes the work to James Douglas (1858-1911), English landscape painter. The painting is presented in a styled frame.
