Description : L.O.V.E.
Multiple in concrete. Seletti limited edition, dated 2014, presented in original wooden box. It is a 1:28 scale reproduction of the famous installation by Maurizio Cattelan in Piazza Affari in Milan. The original installation, created in 2010, which seems to depict an obscene gesture, has a precise meaning: the acronym that entitles it means Freedom, Hate, Revenge, Eternity and actually depicts a hand stretched out in the fascist salute with four severed fingers, therefore understood as a gesture of irreverence towards the fascist symbol. Maurizio Cattelan is currently the most highly rated living Italian artist; his works are shown in all the museums of the world. Starting from twentieth-century avant-gardism, with a critical approach, Cattelan in his works blends life and art, reality and fantasy together; with the passage of time, his actions become more and more sensationalistic and mass-media, aiming to "say" the avant-garde, but "show" the impossibility of it, making the avant-garde meet with nihilism. His works arouse a smile at first glance, but at the same time disturb the viewer, prompting him to reflect. The themes hidden in the artist's works are serious and profound: death, love, the meaning of life, failure. In several works he uses stuffed or fake animals, mannequins and wax plastic statues. The artist has also represented himself in some of his works. L
