Description
First edition 1955 of the first volume of the series “Italia mia” directed by Zavattini, who wanted to inaugurate a new type of book, born from the encounter with cinema, synthesis of film and book, photographic pages and written testimony. In this first volume Zavattini presents “an ordinary town” in Italy, which is however also a place of memory: Luzzara, Zavattini’s hometown, a non-rhetorical observation point on the Italy of the time, portrayed by the American photographer and documentary maker Paul Strand and by Zavattini’s interviews with his fellow townspeople.
