Rococo Console Piedmont Italy 18th Century
The EIGHTEENTH Century - 1700
The shaped wooden top is supported by four curved legs, carved in leaves volutes and ending with carved feet.
The cross vault is richly carved with swirls and plant motifs, with a big leaf-like element in the middle. The apron is carved and perforated in the middle, front and on the sides, it displays a medallion with a floral decoration held between leaves volutes. The entire surface is laquered in yellow, while the top is painted to look like marble.
This elegant console is of Piedmontese production, as proved by potential matches with some similar pieces published by Augusto Pedrini (1953).
