Questo libro, che ne celebra i 150 anni attraverso fotografie e documenti d'archivio, è anche una dedica alla città di Milano, con la quale l'azienda condivide una storia di energia e rinascita, a partire dalla ricostruzione dopo i bombardamenti di piazza Duomo del '43 e dal restauro del negozio dopo il grave incendio del 1973. Dal 2001 l'attività commerciale ha lasciato il posto all'attuale gestione immobiliare nel segno di una continuità di stile e di intenti che comprende i negozi un tempo a insegna Galtrucco, quali quello ora occupato da Loro Piana in via Montenapoleone, e il Salone dei Tessuti di via San Gregorio, dagli anni '20 showroom ante-litteram e oggi spazio per eventi o esposizioni legati soprattutto alla moda e al design.
