Neoclassical Chairs in Walnut

Pair of neoclassical chairs in carved walnut, last quarter of the 18th century. Four turned legs joined by a crosspiece support a walnut seat and an open backrest with a carved diamond motif, the seats are decorated with carvings on the friezes and frets of the backrest and the band under the seat.

Nothern Italy, Early XVIII Century

Baroque chair in carved walnut, northern Italy, early 18th century. Back and seat in leather worked with non-coeval vegetal motifs, held in place by brass studs. Front carved folder replaced. One of the rear legs has a restoration.

Early XVIII Century

Pair of baroque chairs with shaped backs and padded seats upholstered in leather, Umbria, early 18th century. Walnut structure, crosspieces and spool front legs. A coat of arms is painted in the center of the backrests, which seems to correspond to the coat of arms of the Fedeli family of Spoleto, portraying a dressed faith (in heraldry the faith indicates two hands shaking) with a six-pointed gold star at the top. The leather covering of one seat was replaced in the 19th century.
