Description
The volume is composed of the famous black and white photographs by Ugo Mulas and two poems by Nanni Balestrini. Mulas, a friend of Fontana, had already photographed him in his studio with his works, but he wanted to portray him while he was making one of his cuts, or "waits" as Fontana called them: he had understood that the core of Fontana's work and art was not so much the result, the canvas, as the moment that preceded the artistic gesture, the silent study from which it was born. When the artist refused, Mulas did not give up and proposed to Fontana to simulate one of his cuts. From this particular agreement a sequence of photos was born that would later enter the history of art.
