Description
This work was first published in France in 1827; ours is the first Italian edition from 1831. The work is divided into two main parts: Construction Models and Treatise on Architecture and Construction. From the title pages: "Containing models of city and country dwellings, farms, citrus groves, gates, wells, fountains, etc., as well as a treatise on architecture and construction that includes a summary of new discoveries in construction. A useful work for architects, engineers, entrepreneurs, and especially for people who wish to direct their own craftsmen." Also from the title pages, we learn that the author Urbano Vitry was "an architect, professor of geometry and industrial mechanics at the school of Toulouse, a member of the Society of Fine Arts, correspondent of the industrial collection, etc.." The volume includes 104 copper-engraved plates, some of which are folded, illustrating the various models.
