Description

Oil on canvas. There are several versions of this painting, identical or different in small details, with the same dimensions. Quote copies present in the Barberini collection in Rome, another at the Pitti Palace in Florence, and in Naples in the Church of SS. Annunziata. From private provenance one version is passed at auction in Vienna, Palais Dorotheum in 2009, accompanied by authentic Sameera suggesting the autograph as the result of collaboration by Jacopo Bassano and his son Francesco, as that stored at Corsham Court, Lelthuen Collection, which is signed by both authors. Actually quite close to the pictorial ways of his father Jacopo, more so than other siblings, Francis resumes here fully the taste for "rural and domestic things" that are the real Center of attention, built around the biblical theme of Joachim's call. In this beautiful night stand out the five spaces illuminated by lights of fires and of the divine call. Restored and ritelato, is presented in a gilt frame of the 19th century.
