Oil on copper presented in a vintage frame. On the back of the painting there is an attribution to Carracci and a two sealing waxes belonging to the Piccolomini collection (a cross surmounted by a crowned eagle with five crescent half moons). The Saint is worshiping the Crucifix and is depicted in his classic iconography: with open hands to show his stigmata. The Holy Bible is in front of him, open on a skull. High quality. Late 1500s.
