Oil on walnut board. The refined painting may be attributed to Giovanni Bigatti (1774-1817): on the back of the board, it is written "Bigattus pinx. an 1803 in mens. dicemb., Ant° Vidani". Bigatti was a painter and engraver from Milan and he worked in his natal city since 1805, when he moved to Rome to study. As for the depicted subject, there is a citation by Antonio Vidani who was among the people who formed the association promoting the edition of 1817 on Carlo Porta's poetry. The painting is presented in gilded frame of the 19th century. 1803.
