Oil on canvas. Maestro dei riflessi, anonymous artist from Venice of the mid 1700s, was an artist belonging to the same circle of Pietro Longhi (1701-1785), an artist from Venice famous for his genre paintings depicting Venetian costumes and life scenes. He depicted charming events of the Venetian low and high society during their daily life. These subjects had a great impact and were so inspirational to allow the spread of imitators and followers of the genre. Maestro dei Riflessi was among them. The painting depicts a domestic scene: while the mother is sewing at the bobbin, the young girl is taming the puppy with a cookie and her father is looking at her. The painting is presented in an antique amended frame. On the back of the structure, there is an antique cartouche. Mid 18th century.
