Additional Information
Designer: Flavio Poli
Flavio Poli was born in 1900, immediately showing his innovative mentality by starting to work as a designer not with glass but with ceramics. Towards the end of the 1920s, not resisting the tradition of Venetian glass art, he decided to devote himself to blown glass starting the collaboration with Libero Vitali I.V.A.M. to then move on to other historic glassworks in Venice such as the Compagnia di Venezia and Archimede Seguso. The genius of Flavio Poli and the innovation of color applied to glass gave many awards to the collaboration with Archimede Seguso who saw their creations exhibited in major events such as the Universal Exhibition in Brussels, the Venice Biennials and the Milan Triennials. Flavio Poli passed away in 1984 leaving an indelible mark of the artistic collaborations with the greatest glass masters of the 20th century, some of his creations are on display in the Palazzo Boncompagni Ludovisi and in the central hall of the Glass Museum based in the ancient Palazzo dei Vescovi di Torcello which collects collections of Venetian glass masters from 1400 to 1900.Production: Seguso
