Technical specification: Woodcut
For the woodcut refers to the engraving of images and short texts on wooden tablets, the matrices, then inked and used to create multiple copies of the same person, on paper and on silk, by printing with the press. Given that the silografia is a type of engraving in relief, it is not difficult to insert the array of wood in the forms of typesetting, printing at the same time text and images. This feature of the silografia makes the printing process very cheap, in fact, will mainly be used for the "lyrics". A historic printing house specialized in popular prints was that of the Remondini of Bassano del Grappa.
