Description : Figure padane

Oil on canvas. SIgned on the lower left corner. Another signature and title on the back. Born in Arena Po and artistically trained in Milan, Giuseppe Motti was strongly attached to his native land. After taking part to the Resistance, at the end of the World War He took part to the Realist movement, becoming master of it, and with the others looked for a new way of expression, still inferred from precise references and relationship with the real world, growing an unique and personal pictorial quality that let them recieve several national and international recongnitions. Motti is known as " Painter of Po" refering to his origins but also refering to the characters that populate his paintings, such as fishermen, boatmen, bathers, paesant women: humble figures that Motti had constantly defent with his art, capable of comunicate beaty and social solidarity. The painting comes with frame.
