Oil on oval canvas applied to the panel masonite octagonal. Signed center left. Napoleone Luigi Grady, a milanese painter who trained at the Academy of Brera with Hayez, he was known for his landscapes and particularly for his portraits of women. It was called the "painter of beautiful forms, so that all his portraits of women, beautiful and luxuriant forms, in spite of the features of the original". He was particularly prone to steal rêveries, languor, desires and regrets of a romantic female creatures, giving proof of being a skilful designer of anatomie women. The small painting of the proposed fall in this type of portrait: the noblewoman has the head is adorned with a romantic hairstyle, in curls and dressed up with roses; it is wrapped in a shawl of tulle, and pose as the eyes express a faint sensual and dreamy.
