Description : Figura femminile in paesaggio

Oil on canvas. Italian school of the late SEVENTEENTH century. Set in the outside, all the emicampo left of the scene is occupied by the figure of the semi expanse of a young woman embracing a tree trunk, the position of which creates a diagonal that divides the field in two parties ; and although placed on the front, it draws the head backwards to the left, watching the distant sunset on the countryside. The whole scene is characterized by a broad movement, well representative of the vitality of the baroque: the position of the body of the woman ,his clothes with the coat puffed out from the air, the arms knotted behind the trunk, the head is rotated. To the back on the chassis, is this attribution to Luca Giordano: the mode of painting is consistent with the style of the well-known neapolitan painter, who was extremely prolific and worked in all Italian and european cities, marking with his style, the transition from the baroque to the rococo. The painting, restored and ritelato, is presented in the frame style.
