Oil on plywood. Signature, title and date on the back. Erme Ripa, abbreviation of Ermenegildo Ripa and his stage name, trained at the Brera Academy and then settled in Monza where he lived and worked for the rest of his life, stands out for a landscape production of Lombard, Ligurian, Tuscan and Emilian. All his landscapes are characterized by the clarity of the atmosphere and by a great perspective depth; soft and bright colors, essential and well-defined lines prevail. This view from the window of his studio in Monza, of which the bell tower and spiers of the cathedral can be recognized, although an urban view, re-proposes the artist's style, in particular in the sharpness of the lines and in the soft colors. The painting is presented in a frame.
