Description : Marina
Oil on the table. Signed lower left. On the back the title in pencil and the label of the Galleria Pesaro in Milan. Intense glimpse of the sea played on a few color ranges, which draw on white and blue to create chromatic and light contrasts between sky and sea, in which even the small white sail in the center fits discreetly. Sala uses fast and broad, overlapping, impressionist brushstrokes. Paolo Sala, Milanese by birth and training, distinguished himself as one of the most important landscape painters of his period, as well as a landscape painter of the numerous Italian and foreign cities in which he worked. He preferred watercolors, but he also painted a lot in oils. The painting is presented in a period frame.
