Color lithograph. Signed and dated 1924 top right. Printed by the printer Barabino & Graeve of Genoa. This is an advertising poster for the well-known Pernigotti company of Novi Ligure, today renowned above all for the famous Gianduiotti chocolates, but which began with the production of various confectionery and similar products. Ettore Mazzini, a Genoese portrait and landscape painter, also created various advertising illustrations for important Ligurian companies (we recall the poster for the naval, thermal, electrical and mechanical constructions of the Ansaldo group of Genoa). The poster presented is in good condition, with humidity stains and a cut in the paper. Framed.

Artist: Ettore Mazzini (1891-1960)
Born in Genoa in 1891, Ettore Mazzini was a student at the Ligurian Academy of Fine Arts in the city, where he was named Academician of Merit for the Painting class in 1942. He was a student of Attilio Andreoli (1877-1950), a renowned Lombard portraitist, whose studio he assiduously frequented. He participated in all the Ligurian Regional exhibitions from 1920, as well as the Prestigious Exhibition of Sacred Art at the Permanente in Milan in 1931, presenting the work “Christ among the poor”. He was also a skilled engraver, dedicating himself to the sectors of xylography and etching. He was a fresco painter, his works are in the Church of San Nicola and in the Capuchin Monastery, both in Genoa. From the Andreoli school, Ettore Mazzini learned mainly the technique of portraiture, from which he then moved on to the depiction of landscapes and especially mountain views and rural scenes. ettore Mazzini was also an illustrator for advertising, creating among other things the advertising illustration for the naval, thermal, electrical and mechanical constructions of the Ansaldo group of Genoa. Mazzini died in Genoa in 1960.Age: 20th Century / 1901 - 2000
