Quando nel 1929 Janusz Korczak pubblica "Le regole della vita" ha uno scopo ben preciso: costruire "una pedagogia per i giovani e per gli adulti", come indica il sottotitolo; mettere a disposizione di tutti gli adulti e di tutti i giovani - insieme - un saggio, un libro scientifico che permetta di meglio comprendere quel che si gioca effettivamente nelle relazioni interumane e nello spirito dei bambini. Per oltre ottant'anni questo libro ha conservato la sua verità e il suo segreto: accompagnare piccoli e grandi nella giungla dei loro desideri, e soprattutto delle attese spesso contraddittorie degli adulti, per meglio comprendere la complessità delle regole, quasi sempre implicite e mai davvero esplicitate, che reggono le relazioni nella società, in famiglia, così come nella vita scolastica, nel mondo dei giochi, nelle compagnie. Solo ponendo innanzi punti di chiarezza assoluta nei sentimenti e negli ideali che animano tutte queste realtà della vita, diviene possibile aiutare i bambini e i giovani a costruire il proprio progetto di vita e a migliorarsi nella prospettiva di un mondo più giusto, più umano, più solidale, a misura delle proprie aspirazioni. Proprio questo concerne anche gli adulti.

Tarasp Castle 1960

Oil on cardboard. Signed and dated lower right. The Roman artist Cesare Maggi established himself as a landscape painter of the divisionist style, portraying Alpine landscapes of the Engadine and Aosta Valley, often enlivened by the inclusion of figures and animals. Having become friends with the painter Giacomo Grosso in Turin in 1901, he then successfully turned to the portrait genre, setting aside the divisionist technique. Although he still preferred high mountain views, he expanded his subjects by also working on marine and still life paintings. Shown here is the snow-covered glimpse of Tarasp Castle, an 11th-century fortress in Lower Engadine, Switzerland. This is a late work by the artist, who remained attached to his favorite subject, the Alpine landscape, until the end, despite having now abandoned the divisionist technique of his early period. The work is presented in a period frame.

The Angel of Death 1979

Oil on hardboard. Signed and dated lower left. Further signature, date and title on the back. Angelo Peratici's artistic production is characterized by a desire for expressive freedom that draws on his fervent imagination to represent reality. Starting from this innate impulse to transfigure reality, his art has transformed into a laborious research process, fertile with metaphorical and visionary images, sometimes grotesque, eccentric, which we see realized in particular in the production of the early 80s.
