Description

A mantel clock made of black marble with gilded decorations. Leonine feet, apron and ornaments made of finely chiseled gilded bronze. Bronze frame with engraved Roman numbers on a black glazed metal base. In the middle the illegible name of the clockmaker. It has not been revised. Manufactured in France, end of the 19th century.

Product Condition:
Good condition. Wear consistent with age and use. Any damage or loss is displayed as completely as possible in the pictures.

A table clock made of white marble with gilded bronze details. Rectangular basement with two turned columns and a cylindrical clock between them. The white marble is embellished with gilded bronze details, frames, flames and laurel garlands under the box. Pendulum with mask with silver spokes. The glazed metal face has Arabian numbers and it's signed Lèchopiè à Paris. Finely perforated gilded metal hands. Manufactured in France, last quarter of the 18th century.

Oil on canvas. It probably depicts a tragic anti-Semitic event. On the right, a wounded soldier in Russian uniform is witnessing the dramatic scene of a slaughtered family while the rabbi is preying for them. The broken window and the upside down drawers make clear that the killers broke into the house. On the left of the mirror, there is a Jewish writing that may suggest the location. The word may be translated as 'Ciro' and may be referring to the areas of Georgia and Azerbaijan near the Kura (river flowing from Turkey to the Caspian Sea, known as 'Ciro' in 1800s). The painting, restored and relined, is presented in a frame of the 1800s.
