Loose and mute binding with two cardboard plugs applied to the faded back; dishes with dust spots, burnished spots, peeling at the edges and corners; back with lack to the lower part. Burnished cuts with dust spots. Moisture gore at the front counterplate and at the first guard sheet; blooms to the guard sheets. Well preserved papers, with rare tears and lacks, without any compromise of text; rare blooms in particular from page 17 to 20. Text in Italian language.

The first edition of this collection of verses by Giambattista Giusti (1758-1829), engineer and translator of Greek and Latin classics (his libretto Edipo a Colono set to music in 1817 by Gioacchino Rossini), came out of the Bodoni presses in 1801, in 4 ° and in 16 °. This second edition of Tipografia Masi di Bologna, printed on light blue paper, is very rare: in the preface L'Editore to the reader the motivation for this reprint: "The copies of the Bodonian print were so few that many could neither see them nor read them.
