Description
Only the third part of this introductory treatise on the keyboard by Bonifazio Asioli, director from 1808 to 1814 of the newly founded Conservatory of Music in Milan. In the first two volumes, the harpsichord performance technique was taught through sonatinas and sonatas composed specifically by the author and through exercises that would help the student master the tonal system. In this third part, the student is introduced to the rules of harmony with the aim of training him to accompany orchestral scores with basso continuo, from the accompaniment of recitatives preceded by improvised preludes to the basso continuo support of increasingly complex instrumental formations.
